Amelia Vitarelli, a California native, has emerged as one of the Bay Area's leading flutists and educators. In 2000, she graduated with her M.M. in flute performance from the University of Iowa where she studied with Dr. Tadeu Coelho, internationally recognized doloist and recording artist. Her other advanced studies include Domaine Forget International Music Academy in Quebec, Canada, San Jose State University and University of California at Santa Barbara.
Amelia has been a performer at the National Flute Convention in 2004 and 07, and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2003 and 07. Amelia is a frequent free-lance chamber musician though out the Bay Area and her other teachers include Isabel Chapuis-Starr and Jill Felber. Students from Vitarelli Flute Studios have won several state, regional, and district solo and chamber music competitions in addition to holding top spots in various youth symphonies in the Bay Area. Amelia has a full private flute studio in Mountain View and San Jose of the San Francisco Bay Area.
